Mechanical Conveyor, Pallet Conveyor, Load Conveyor, Palletizer - Depalletizer, Collaborative Robot
Time limit : 6 months

State of play

  • Obsolescence of the existing palletizer
  • High breakdown rates
  • Existing equipment not suitable for small tray production

Objectives

  • Putting in place a robot allowing the palletization of all load formats
  • Increase pace by 30%
  • Improve the human interface – machine

As part of our commitment to improving the efficiency and productivity of our customers, ACCS Packaging has recently undertaken a project to replace an aging cartesian palletizer with a new one advanced palletization robot. The specifications were complex : it was necessary to increase the palletization rate by 30% for anticipating the integration of new machines, while incorporating formats usually palletized manually.

To meet this challenge, ACCS Packaging, in collaboration with its partner INSAR, has developed an innovative solution incorporating a robot with two removable heads, allowing to treat small and large loads separately :

  • for small loads, a grip head equipped with a layer suction system is used.
  • for large loads, a larger removable head, equipped with two retractable curtains, is implemented. The rollers on this head are made of carbon/kevlar, ensuring stiffness and lightness.

A considerable design effort was devoted to optimization of machine inputs, thus reducing the preparation cycle times of the layers. ACCS Packaging and INSAR also provided all the conveyors for loads and pallets, ensuring a complete and integrated solution.

The project was implemented by INSAR in just 4 weeks. The client expressed great satisfaction with the quality of the installed equipment and the competence and professionalism of the engineers and technicians involved in the project.

This success illustrates our ability to provide innovative palletization solutions and effective, meeting the specific needs of each client while improving their productivity and operational efficiency.

Caps air transfer for La Salvetat

Caps air transfer for La Salvetat

Pneumatic transfer of caps

Air transfer of caps for La Salvetat in Occitanie

Client : La Salvetat, Danone Group
Services : Line engineering
Air Conveyor
Time limit : 6 months

State of play

  • 2 existing caps transfer lines including 1 in manual supply

Objectives

  • Transform the existing automatic caps supply line in 2 lines
  • Reducing employee hardness at work
  • Limiting the risk of accidents at work

Here is an innovative project to improve the working conditions of operators while optimising the management of production lines.

The main objective of this project was to eliminate the laborious tasks associated with the handling of plugs for operators, thus freeing up time to concentrate on the efficient management of production lines. To achieve this, we had to rethink the existing stopper distribution conveyor and find a solution to distribute two production lines simultaneously.

ACCS Packaging proposed an innovative hybrid solution, combining a mechanical conveyor with a double sense suction conveyor. This unique configuration ensured that the two production lines were supplied alternately to an impressive rate of 54,000 bottles per hour. In addition, through an automated system, the distribution flow can be directed to one or another line as required.

At the outlet of the mechanical conveyor, we integrated an suction conveyor with a capture hopper, allowing to suck caps and distribute to a hopper buffer located 40 metres away. The system is fully automated, with a control console allowing accurate management of the distribution of caps according to production needs.

With regard to the installation, we ensured that the traffic constraints in the corridors were respected, by carrying out a detailed rating survey and by proposing a solution in 3D representation to visualize the final layout.

The installation of this complete solution proceeded quickly, in just a little more than a week, with the intervention of two people. The commissioning took another four days to ensure that all possible configurations were taken into account.

The aesthetic and functional result of this tailor-made solution has been particularly appreciated by our customer, demonstrating our commitment to excellence in the design and implementation of innovative industrial solutions.

New Pacific Drinks Air Conveyor Line

New Pacific Drinks Air Conveyor Line

New air conveyor line

New line of air conveyor for bottles at Pacific Drinks in Tahiti

Client : Pacific Drinks
Services : Line engineering
Air Conveyor
Time limit : 4 months

State of play

  • Manual arrangement of cylinders on the bottling line
  • Workshop congestion and significant ergonomic problems

Objectives

  • Automate blower / filler connection
  • Facilitating the movement of forklifts

Our client, concerned about the quality and welfare of its employees, sought to integrate its blower 1BLOW its air conveyor in a filling unit CIMEC. However, the major challenge was the need to maintain a fluid circulation between these machines despite a distance of a few meters.

In the face of this situation, sending a technician to perform a field survey in Tahiti proved uneconomic. This is why, in collaboration with a local architectural firm, we opted for an innovative approach : a 3D scan of the building was carried out and then sent to ACCS Packaging for a 3D treatment. This approach allowed us to design a compact and ergonomic solution who fully satisfied our client.

The route of the air conveyor was thoroughly validated with a 3D simulation on SolidWorks. After design, the equipment was shipped by sea to Tahiti. To guarantee the necessary versatility to our customer, we recommended the use of our UBIC guidance system, thus enabling processing all existing and future formats without mechanical modifications.

In an effort to minimize travel costs, we sent a small team to the site: a mechanical conductor, assisted by a local team, managed to mount the new air conveyor line in just three weeks. At the same time, an automatic operator took over the implementation of the programme and operator interface in just over a week, taking the time to anticipate and solve all possible scenarios.

Modernisation of an existing Coca-Cola air conveyor

Modernisation of an existing Coca-Cola air conveyor

Modernisation of an existing air conveyor

Air conveyor upgrade for Coca-Cola Germany

Client : Cola-Cola - Germany
Services : Line engineering
Air Conveyor
Time limit : 2 months

State of play

  • Obsolescence of both blowers
  • Old pneumatic guidance
  • Bottle blockage problem

Objectives

  • Replace the current 2 blowers with only 1 machine
  • Adapt the air conveyor accordingly
  • Improve current performance

In order to meet our client's requirements, ACCS Packaging has undertaken a proactive approach, starting with a precise dimensional survey, in order to design the optimal implantation while taking into account bottle transfer requirements. A careful analysis of the original provision led to a total overhaul, replacing the pneumatic side guidance system at three levels of the conveyor by one UBIC multi-position system. This transition not only reduced the number of actuators required, but also expanded the possibilities for adjustments.

A team of 8 technicians was mobilized on site to make these changes in just two weeks. A tandem expert in mechanics and automation was then responsible for commissioning the new configuration.

The result ?

  • A major production line more fluid, allowing our customer to integrate new formats without mechanical modifications.
  • Thanks to a redesigned HMI interface, it can now easily add and save new formats in the automaton.
  • In addition, it benefits from real-time information about possible air leaks, allowing it to respond quickly to problems.

On the operational level, the new route has significantly reduces blockages, improving performance overall line. In addition, thanks to the overall modification of the line, our customer realized energy saving remarkable, reaching up to 30% compared to the previous implantation.

Integration new table of accumulation for Confit de Provence

Integration new table of accumulation for Confit de Provence

Integration new accumulation table

Integration of a new storage table for jars at Confit de Provence

Client : Confit de provence
Services : Line engineering
Mechanical Conveyor, Accumulation Table
Time limit : 2 months

State of play

  • Many production stoppages related to jar falls
  • Limited accumulation time
  • Regular failure

Objectives

  • Prevent the risk of jar falls by limiting pressure
  • Increase accumulation time by 2 minutes
  • Viabilize the operation of the table

We proposed to Confit de Provence a innovative solution in the form of a new accumulation table equipped with two carpets operating in both directions.

When the production line stops and the jars accumulate, the second carpet moves in the opposite direction of production, allowing for a accumulation without pressure jars for several minutes.

This specific design of the storage table has been designed to adapt to the conical shape of the jars and to the limited space, thus providing an efficient solution adapted to the precise needs of our customer.

With the introduction of this new system, the results have been significant for Confit de Provence :

  • Bocal falls were eliminated,
  • production stops due to the table have become a distant memory,
  • and operators are no longer obliged to intervene regularly to clean and unblock products.

Moreover, the yield of the production line improved, because the new table allows to hide the micro-stops of labellers and other machines downstream.

This solution not only solved the problems encountered by our client, but also contributed to the increase efficiency and profitability its process of producing jams in glass jars.
